Coeliac Safe Dining at Stalactites

Stalactites is accredited by Coeliac Australia. If you or someone dining with you has coeliac disease, you'll find a wide range of dishes prepared to a verified standard, alongside staff who understand what that means.

Greek food lends itself naturally to being coeliac-safe. Much of what we've cooked since 1978, lamb slow-cooked with vegetables, grilled fish, legume-based dishes, has always been built around high-quality seasonal ingredients. Our accreditation brings formal verification to what has long been part of how we cook.

Coeliac Australia accreditation requires an independent assessment of our kitchen practices. It is not a one-time sign-off but an ongoing commitment to verified standards including dedicated preparation areas for gluten-free dishes, separation from gluten-containing ingredients and equipment throughout preparation, and regular staff training on coeliac disease and safe food handling.

Our allergen matrix is reviewed by an Accredited Practising Dietitian and is available to download here.

FAQs

  • Please let our staff know when you order. Our team is trained in coeliac disease and safe food handling as part of our accreditation requirements, so you won't need to over-explain.

  • No. Gluten-containing ingredients are present in our kitchen, which is why our preparation protocols and staff training exist. Not every dish on the menu is gluten-free, but a wide range of options are available and clearly identified. Our full allergen matrix is available [here].

  • Our kitchen maintains dedicated preparation areas and separate equipment for gluten-free dishes throughout the entire preparation process. These practices are independently assessed as part of our Coeliac Australia accreditation, which requires ongoing compliance rather than a single sign-off.
